ALBEMARLE ST Mk V, 295 SQUADRON, HARWELL, BERKSHIRE, JULY 1944
Photo thanks to Todds YATES and Steve CLARKE
On the right is Jim CLARKE, 295 Squadron, Air Gunner of the plane and Steve's father. Sadly Jim just passed away earlier in 2003. On the photo, Jim is along with 2 members of his crew. On the left is A.G. SMITH, the pilot. The person in the centre is unknown.
Note: Look at the very typical carriage of the Albemarle. The Albemarle was the only nose-wheel aircraft made in Great Britain during World War II.
Only 4 Squadrons used the ST Mk V: 295, 296, 297 & 570 Squadrons.
